Job Title: Contract Marketing Professional
Location: Lutheran Elementary School Association (LESA) – St. Louis, MO
Start Date: Immediately
We are seeking a contract marketing professional to support strategic communications and brand visibility on an independent contractor basis. This role is expected to average 20 hours per week and is ideal for a creative, organized professional with experience in social media, digital marketing, communications strategy, and media relations.
The Lutheran Elementary School Association (LESA) is a consortium of Lutheran schools in the St. Louis metropolitan area that works collaboratively to support and strengthen Christ-centered education for children and families. LESA serves member schools through tuition assistance, educational resources, strategic enrollment support, and programs that help sustain high-quality Lutheran education across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, schedule, and manage content across social media platforms.
- Develop and implement communication strategies that strengthen brand awareness and engagement.
- Support digital marketing efforts, including campaign planning, content development, email marketing, and performance tracking.
- Write and edit press releases, media advisories, and other external communications.
- Maintain consistent messaging, tone, and visual standards across marketing materials.
- Monitor engagement and campaign performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify communication priorities and promote organizational initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator and strategic thinker who can translate ideas into compelling content and campaigns that build visibility and engagement.
- Demonstrated experience in social media content creation and account management.
- Experience developing and executing communication strategies for campaigns, programs, or organizational initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing principles and tools.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Experience writing press releases and other public-facing communications.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in nonprofit, mission-driven, or community-focused marketing is preferred.
Contractor Status
The selected contractor will:
- Receive a 1099 for tax reporting purposes
- Be responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes
- Not be eligible for employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement benefits, paid leave, or unemployment benefits
- Maintain control over how services are performed, while collaborating with organizational leadership on goals, priorities, and deliverables
Compensation
This is a contract position averaging 20 hours per week. Compensation is $37.50/hour.
