Position Overview
Christ Community Lutheran School has an opening to join our Early Childhood Education team as a Full-Time Assistant Teacher in our 2’s Room (2-year-olds and 3-year-olds). The ideal candidate will have experience caring for toddlers and preschoolers, including older two-year-olds and younger three-year-olds. As an Assistant Teacher in our ECE program, you have a direct impact on precious little ones… as well as young, new parents and even whole families.

2’s Assistant Duties
- Assist lead teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities for children
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children
- Assist with diapering, feeding, and other basic care needs
- Use technology for professional development and communication with parents and team members
- Collaborate with lead teacher and other staff members to create a positive and supportive team environment
- Stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
Schedule
- Standard full-time hourly schedule is 8:15 a.m. until 4:15 p.m.
- Total working time: 40 hours per week
- Annual Cycle: position typically runs August 1 through June 1 (ten months)
- By default, June and July are off work (no duties/no pay)
Summer employment also available (optional)
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or higher preferred
- Experience working with toddlers and preschoolers
- Knowledge of early childhood development and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with others
- Passion for teaching and working with children
- Alignment with CCLS mission and statement of faith
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly pay rate $16.00/hour ($17.00 if Bachelor’s degree completed)
