Zion Lutheran School is seeking educators who not only teach effectively, but also lead students with wisdom, faith, and care through every part of school life.
A Zion teacher is more than an instructor—they are a spiritual leader, mentor, and partner with families in nurturing both the academic and faith development of each child.
We are seeking the following teaching positions:
- Junior High Math & 8th Grade Homeroom Teacher
- Technology Instructor (Part-Time)
- 5th Grade Teacher
- 4th Grade Teacher
- 3rd Grade Teacher

Core Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver clear, effective, and engaging instruction aligned to curriculum and student needs
- Foster a classroom culture marked by respect, curiosity, growth, responsibility, and Christ-like love
- Integrate faith naturally and meaningfully into classroom instruction and relationships
- Use assessment data to support student growth and guide instruction
- Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and development
- Communicate regularly and proactively with parents regarding student progress and needs
- Build positive relationships with students, encouraging confidence, perseverance, and character
- Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to support student success
- Participate in school life, including meetings, professional development, and school events
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress
- Support the overall mission and ministry of the school through daily actions and attitudes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid teaching certificate in Illinois (or ability to obtain one)
- Demonstrated success in student teaching or classroom instruction
- Strong understanding of child development and instructional practices
- Commitment to Christian education and alignment with the mission of Zion Lutheran School and teachings of the LCMS
- Ability to pass a background check, including fingerprinting

Reports to: Principal
Evaluation: Informal walk-thrus by the administrator; Formal observation and evaluation annually with the administrator
